James Lowry Jr
ECOS Environmental CEO
2013 - present
Proud owner of a great company called ECOS which has 35 employees located in locations through out the state of Colorado; namely, Aspen, Boulder, Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction, & Steamboat Springs. ECOS provides customers with fire and water damage restoration, mold & asbestos removal services. I have high aspirations as I expand the company's product lines & services to more Colorado locations.
1997 - 2007
Head of U.S. agency desk: responsibilities included increasing DB agency market share with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Banks. Within a year, I was able to increase the profitability of the business and grow market share. More specifically, based on new issue mandates, the desk went from the #7 ranked dealer in 2007 to the #2 ranked dealer in 2008. In addition to increasing profits and market share, I substantially lowered the size of the balance sheet.
2008 - 2013
After 17 years on Wall Street, I decided to use this experience to trade from home and spend more time with my 6 lovely children who needed more focus from a stay-at-home father. I paid bills by trading equities, equity options, and fixed income securities. More recently, I have been exploring the opportunities of buying an existing business and growing the business using some of the similar management skills I employed on Wall Street.
1991 - 1995
I was responsible for trading callable agency bonds with an emphasis on using interest rate derivatives to risk manage agency bonds. Grew the profit of this business from $10 mm in 2000 to $40mm in 2001, $89 mm in 2002 - 2004. During my 10 year career at Citigroup Securities, I was actively involved in interviewing analysts and associates for the firm. Eventually, I headed up the firm's efforts to recruit, hire, and develop talented minorities from colleges and business schools located throughout the country. Finally, I wrote a business plan to help Citigroup accomplish its goals of hiring highly qualified minority analysts and associates.
